From June 3, 1993 on the southwest facade of the elementary school Vladimir Nazor, the vertical sundial indicates apparent solar time. The sundial does not lie in the plane of the first vertical. Measurements and calculations were preformed by students-astronomers, with the help of their mentor. The wall azimth was measured to be 25° west and calculation gave the expected asymmetrical layout of hour marks. This sundial does not show the early hours of the morning. For exact mounting of the gnomon, a special stone was made. During the fall and winter shadow falls only to the inner solar scale of true solar time, and during the spring and summer shadow falls also across the hourly scale of "summer time". Installation of metal rod, hourly marks and metal casted numbers was made by the head of the astronomical section, Zlatko F. Kovačević.
Part of the wall below the sundial was illustrated according to artistic design by student Ivana Cenger, which was selected from 50 student artworks by a special jury, appointed by the director Slavko Đurđević. The image of this sundial was a prominent visual detail of the first Internet web site of primary school Vladimir Nazor since 2002. After twelve years of school's original decoration, the painting below the sundial was ruined by the painters that painted the wall in one color during the restoration of the facade. The painting was finally restored in 2013.
