Vertical sundial on the tower of the Istrian parliament. It used to be the church of St. Francis, and was built in the 13th century on the foundations of the early Christian church of St. Thomas from the 5th century. The bell tower next to the apse, which was demolished in 1686, was rebuilt in the period from 1708 to 1731 in the Baroque style. The sundial most likely originates from that period.
